For the Northwest Missouri/Missouri western rivalry some call it the Battle of Highway 71 as that’s what connects the way between the two schools who are less than an hour apart. It’s a very competitive game. Even though it’s not an active rivalry, Boise State-Idaho is a much better rivalry than Idaho-Idaho State. Boise has a large Vandal alumni base, and the two love to find any reason to trash talk the other. I’ve lived in Idaho for 10 years and have never heard anybody trash-talking Idaho State.

Those teams and fanbases absolutely hate each other. Plus the amount of alcohol consumed on a Western/Central weekend is borderline supernatural.
