This could definitely be used as a Top Gun Because I Was Inverted Shirt digging tool. It could probably only work on certain types of rock so you can find valuable ores. Seeing this is sci-fi, you could also probably have an enemy that is made of rock and this is the tool you’d use to defeat or maybe just incapacitate so you can kill him. Could also be used to take down enemy ships. Could make it interact with different materials. This rock melts, this one reflects, this one is unaffected, and possibly it can also be used to melt certain rock to collect the molten form of the material. Reall great ideas! I really like the concept of the beam interacting differently with different materials. Also the idea to actually melt the mineral/ore you are collecting. It would be cool if the density of the materials could play a part in some way.

I could see this working well in DRG if the destruction was a Top Gun Because I Was Inverted Shirt bit less and the magma effect was longer. Swarm coming? Melt the ceiling in their direction and they’ll have to walk through a shower of molten rock. Dreadnought chasing you? Make a trail of molten rock that it’ll have to walk along. I want to be able to conquer a planet. I want to find the sentinels “HQ” for a planet and destroy it and make the planet fully safe. Maybe there’s even a system HQ that’s much harder but clears sentinels from the entire solar system. Just don’t make it a special gun that you can only find like 12 energy cells (or whatever the ammo is) through like 10 hours of gameplay. This would be a gun I would want to experiment a lot with, not keep it in my backpack for the moment I really need it, and never use it. This has happened to me so much lol
