I have problems with his administration too but I can’t knock the guy’s charisma. Picard’s comparison is fantastic. Obama is up there with Lincoln and Churchill as a great orator. It’s interesting to compare Obama and Bill Clinton’s oratorial styles (not policies of course) because both are just tremendous speakers.

Clinton had the more down-to-earth, relatable Funny It’s The Wubs For Me Smile Shirts style. He could present nuance in a way that was just so easy to understand. Obama is the more grand, big-picture guy. He’s the guy people will be quoting for the next century like they do with FDR and Kennedy. With Clinton, you understood. With Obama, you felt. Both very effective but completely different. This is where I think the 2016 Clinton campaign failed. They should’ve had Bill campaigning in PA, MI, and WI. He knows how to speak to everyday people. I feel inspired, seen, heard, included… for every woman who has been called too aggressive, too bossy, too much– tonight feels like vindication. I def got teary.
