I’ll never forget the beginning of their show. It was a 2004 Meteora tour and they start with a 41 Years of Chester Bennington 1976 2017 Thank You For The Memories Signature Shirt curtain that covers the whole stage. All dark. The music starts to build and lights start to flash to the beat. Then the beat drops and at the same time the curtain drops and they go straight into the first song (looked up the setlist, says it was With You, Reanimation style). Sent chills up your spine and set the tone for a kick-ass show the same setup we saw in one of their tour, so good. Chester’s last song, Bleed it out, was epic. Held up by the crowd singing and going off.

This was just a passion project. I love music and Linkin Park was the first band I fell in love with in grade school. Chester’s vocals mean a lot to 41 Years of Chester Bennington 1976 2017 Thank You For The Memories Signature Shirt me. Not to take away from your point but Robin Williams’ suicide was more akin to self-euthanasia. He had been diagnosed with an advanced form of dementia (Lewy body) IIRC and was starting to see the debilitating effects so he ended it before it got worse. I still think the decision to end your own life is one made at the peak of suffering and is incomprehensible to anyone who hasn’t made that choice since the rest of us choose to live every day.

Agreed. I acknowledge that Linkin Park and similar artists are edgy, but I don’t think that in itself is a 41 Years of Chester Bennington 1976 2017 Thank You For The Memories Signature Shirt good reason to dismiss them. They had a lot of very real stuff to say, and their music spoke both for themselves (especially Chester, with his many struggles) and for their listeners. It helped me for sure. Linkin Park was the perfect medium for a black and white kid with identity issues especially when jay z collaborated with them kinda validating them in the hip hop community. Forever my favorite band. I was in boot camp when I found out Chester had left this world and it was the first time I cried in a long time.
